sgraffito
technique of wall decor based on applying layers of plaster and partially scraping away the upper moistened layers. In ceramics this term refers to scratching out a figure on the surface of the object.
signature
apart from a conventional signature the artist may sign his name in the form of a monogram or a symbol, in graphics this is often carved into the plate, more often than not by pencil on the print
single plate linocut
known as the Picasso method, enables the creation of a many coloured picture from one plate, cutting out and colouring individual fragments and printing on paper. It is impossible to create further prints as the plate is destroyed in the process (hence the name of the technique)
