History :

Galeria proarte has been in operation since 2005 and is run on the basis of the decade-long experience in art exhibitions of its owner, who has cooperated in nearly 30 exhibitions held in the most important Polish museums including the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Gdańsk, the Royal Palace in Warsaw, the City Museum in Wrocław, the Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes in Szczecin and many others.

Mission :

The gallery's mission is to popularise art; the product of an intelligent, sensitive and talented individual, the artist. The aim is to bring the three groups of the art market closer together: the world of the artists, the art experts and the world of art dealers and gallery owners as well as the world of the recipients, i.e. collectors, investors and art lovers.

Qualifications :

The owner of the gallery is Alicja Harackiewicz, an art historian and member of the following Polish specialist organisations; the Association of Art Historians (SHS) – member of the Board of the Gdańsk Branch and the Association of Polish Antiquarians (SAP) as well as the Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Oeuvres d'Art (CINOA), an elite international confederation of antiquarians which brings together art and antique dealers from 19 countries of the world.

Profile:

The Gallery specializes in modern and contemporary art; from the second half of the 19th century through the 20th century and up to the present day. This strictly defined specialization allows us to offer works of art in a professional and diligent manner based on reliable contacts with the art market environment, many years experience and rich bibliographic material.

Our primary activities are to present the works of the greatest European artists as an essential complement to the art offered on the Polish market. The contemporary Polish collector has the right to aspire to foreign art, the lack of which on the Polish market was caused by the long period of isolation and interventionism on the part of the state during the Communist period. The works of European masters are sold with certification proving their authenticity and provenance.

Our second area of activity is the latest art of Poland. It is the Gallery's desire to present young yet already recognized Polish artists, the graduates of the leading art schools of the country, the winners of the most important competitions and the authors of important exhibitions. In short, the Gallery's ambition is to promote young Polish art. While monitoring artistic events from around the whole of Poland the Gallery singles out interesting works and then promotes their authors at exhibitions and fairs both in Poland and abroad.
